Welcome to St. James' Junior School. We pride ourselves on running a happy and friendly school. The staff and Governors are great believers in traditional family values, which we encourage and develop throughout the school.

As our Ofsted report shows, we maintain very high standards of work and sport that are taught in a stimulating and challenging environment. Thoughtful consideration is always encouraged in all aspects of school life. In 1999 we were delighted to be included in the Chief Inspector for School's list of 100 highest achieving schools in the country, and as a consequence have been granted recognition as a Beacon School. The 2005 inspection confirmed this accolade. We are also proud that St James was granted the "Investor in People" status in 1996 re-recognised in 2001, 2004 and 2006.

In 2000 and again in 2004 and 2007 we were granted the Activemark Gold award in recognition for the wide range and quality of sporting activities that the children participate in. We are one of the few schools in the country to hold this award. We were awarded Arts Mark gold status in 2005, in recognition of the high standard of work in music, drama, art and dance. We are proud of these accolades, but are most pleased by the individual happiness and success of all of our children. This is always our greatest reward.
