We have just sourced some lovely planters to go under all the windows round the school that open outwards and are in danger of injuring pupils as they walk past with their eyes closed. We love them, and have put a small conifer, trailing ivy, cyclamen, heathers, dwarf daffodils, snowdrops and dwarf iris in the ones outside year 5.
They come in various sizes and are made locally. Dave, who makes them, would like to give them a name (possibly incorporating 'corkscrew', 'twistly' or 'twirly') and is offering a prize of a small planter to the family of the pupil who provides the best name.
