On 4th July 2008 several pupils and teachers came to the celebration assembly to award some certificates. Below are the entries that won.
The next competition is to write a poem, short story, diary entry or piece about 'Yourself'. This competition will run through until September.
After the assembly they stayed to help Year 6 with some science work, for which they were really grateful, thank you Skinners.

Dolphins
Swimming, swimming in the sea,
Gliding, gliding so softly.
Coming nearer and nearer to the shore,
So people can feed them fish galore!
Performing their dolphin shows for them,
Showing their tricks from now and then.
After the show, they relax in a pool,
Can’t you see them swimming? So cool!
They wake up the next day,
Because they want to play!
Dolphins, dolphins love us so well,
Why can’t we love them as well?

Dolphins
Dolphins are great,
Nothing to hate,
But for fish they cannot wait.
Dolphin’s splash,
Wetting people’s cash,
End to end of the pool they splash
Dolphins jump,
Without a pump,
Reaching the height of a rubbish dump,
Dolphins swim,
Flapping their fins,
In a race, they would surely win.
Dolphins glide,
They don’t go and hide,
Look, that one is soaking a guide!
Dolphins are blue,
The sea is too,
I love dolphins, I’m sure you do too!

Interacting with Dolphins
Silky smooth skin,
With gem-like eyes.
Flapping fins,
Their mouths open wide.
They interact with me,
Though I don’t say a thing.
Then they turn away
And dive deep within.
Sleek and silent,
Through the water they go,
And they play with the beach ball,
When I tell them so.
Can you guess what they are,
Both wonderful and great.
If you can’t, well, you will just have to wait!

Dolphins
Splish, splash, splosh
go the dolphins in the water
Jumping through the rings
and landing in the water
Gliding through the air
and floating in the water
So I like to see those dolphins
swimming in the water
However they can not walk on the ground
However they can not fly in the sky
However they can not dig underground
I still like watching those dolphins
Swimming in the water
I would like it if they could walk
I would like it if they could fly
I would like it if they could dig
But I still like watching those dolphins
Swimming in the water.

Dolphins
Splash, Jane dropped the fish into the sparkling water. Suddenly the two dolphins appear. They were a beautiful light blue colour. Jane was surprised as she watched the dolphins gulp down the fish. They seemed more friendly than expected. After a while the dolphins swam away.
Six months later Jane was riding her Dad’s racing speed boat. She was reaching two hundred miles an hour, when the anchor plunged into the water. She started to panic, then in zoomed two dolphins. She recognised them at once and jumped onto one of them and got home with seconds to spare.

Dancing Dolphins
Two lovely, lively dancing dolphins darting through the crystal sky blue water.
Twirling madly, jumping happily, skimming rapidly though the beautiful water doing just what the lady says. Twirling, jumping everyday, swimming amazingly all the way, to the lady so she may give a treat or a ball to play and exciting game and have a lovely time today!
