The end of year Music Concert took place on Tuesday 7th July 2009 in the main hall with parents and friends watching on. Many pupils took part.
The year 3 Recorder Players opened the concert with BB Blues and Wet and Windy. They were followed by the Choirs, both junior and senior, singing Abba songs. Then the Beginner Recorders, Recorder Duets, Flute Duets, Violins, Piano players, Middle Recorder Group, Top Recorder Group and some Soloists and a Vocal Group performed. Music Festival On Monday 30th March, St. James’ senior choir went to the Assembly Hall in Tunbridge Wells for a Music Festival.
We had a practise on Monday morning with Pembury, Claremont, St. John’s and St. Paul’s Schools.
All of the schools sung very well, but I think our school was the best as we had instruments.
The first song was Ocean Commotion. We all made sea noises to feel as if we were actually in the sea.
We also did the noises in the song, The Rainforest Breaths. We split into three groups, the bees, monkeys and the parrots. When we were doing the real thing I think the Mums and Dads thought we had lost it!!!
The real thing went really well, nothing went and nothing went wrong.
Thank you Mr Smith for taking us and making it go well. Also thank you to Mrs Schone, Mrs Ingman and Mr Chandler for being there and helping us. Sounds Like Tobago | | click to see 8 full-size pictures |

Before listening to music on the pan and learning how they are made. At the end of afternoon children were given a pack containing goodies and details of a competition, in which the winners win a week in Tobago.
We hope to further develop the link with the group in the next few months.
